This question started on behalf of an academic client. Is there cover images for journal and books included in any of the output, and if so is there documentation on how to pull them. Especially needed for library promotions.
As far as I can tell, the Springer Images API does not carry cover images for journals/books. You could get covers from http://www.springerlink.com for particular items (via web-crawling), but it might be best to contact a Springer representative about this due to licensing concerns. Depending on your use case, the utilization of covers might be seen as a simple web-mashup, and hence legitimate, or it might be interpreted as a commercial application in which you will not be able to use the covers so easily.
